Eye Safety Basics
- Posted on: May 28 2015
According to Prevent Blindness America, an estimated 2.4 million eye injuries occur in the United States each year, and nearly 1 million Americans have lost some degree of eyesight from an eye injury. Experts say wearing safety glasses and taking other common- sense precautions can prevent or reduce the severity of more than 90 percent of eye injuries that can occur. Take this into consideration and always avoid distractions when doing anything that can harm your eyes. Try and resist “multi-tasking” when working with tools, or objects that can come in contact with your eyes. And ALWAYS wear safety glasses, protective goggles, and if necessary sports glasses for greater eye safety when playing a sport!
