Dr. Magalhaes brings nearly 13 years of clinical experience in medical eye care as managing doctor. He received his Bachelor's degree and doctorate degree in Optometry from the acclaimed NE College of Optometry.
Serving as Chairman of the Southeast District of the MA Society of Optometrists, he has had the privilege of working with leaders in the practice of ophthalmic medicine, forging new ideas in optometric clinical practice. As Managed Care Committee Chairman with the MSO, he has worked hard to "level the playing field" for the profession in the area of third-party players. In the capacity of Executive Board member, he has also helped guide public policy on issues that affect eye care. As an MSO member in line for presidency in that society in 2012, he will represent the interests of Optometry to the medical community and the public at large.
Dr. Lam received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and her doctorate degree from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.
She gained clinical experience through various sites,
including the VA Boston Healthcare System, Koch Eye Associates, Community Health Centers, Boston Medical Center, and New England Eye Institute. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometry.
Dr. Cui had a medical degree from China before coming to the US to pursue graduate studies. After obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he did one-and-a-half years of postdoctoral work in Harvard Medical School. In May 2010, Dr. Cui received his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was selected to become a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Cui gained clinical experiences in his fourth year rotations through various intern sites, including the VA Bedford, Lahey Clinic, Codman Square Community Health Centers, Boston Medical Center, and New England Eye Institute. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Mondal received her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, graduating as an Honors Scholar from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. She received her doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, MA.
During her time at NECO, Dr. Mondal was the President of the NECO Lions Club and an active member of VOSH (Volunteers of Optometric Services to Humanity). She volunteered eye screenings in the Lions Eye mobile and had the invaluable opportunity with VOSH to go to Bogota, Colombia to provide eye services to over 1,000 impoverished people in 2009. After graduation, Dr. Mondal dedicated her free time as a clinical skills tutor to students at the college.
Dr. Mondal's fourth year externships included the VA Newington Health Care System, CT, Eye Care Associates of Fairfield, CT, Martha Elliot Health Center, MA and The New England Eye Institute. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometry.
Dr. Carlsson graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and German. He also underwent pre-medical studies at the University of Massachusetts in Boston before receiving his doctorate of optometry from New England College of Optometry, where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
He has also completed a year-long residency program in primary eye care at The Eye Institute via the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia,
where he worked closely with specialty trained optometrists and ophthalmologist in areas including glaucoma, cataract and retinal disease.
He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association.
